Ify Iwobi festival promo pictureIfy Iwobi is a Wales born & bred, Award Winning Welsh/Nigerian Contemporary Pianist, Songwriter, Composer and Producer.  She studied Music Performance at Brunel University in Uxbridge London. Ify has performed around Wales as a solo artist and with her ensemble of 10 musicians. She has also performed internationally in London, America and Nigeria. Ify Iwobi is a BBC Radio Welsh A-List artist and has just broken a record as the first Black Welsh female artist of Nigerian heritage to have 8 consecutive singles A-Listed by BBC Radio Wales.

Ify’s original piece Flying High was performed by the Royal Airforce Regimental Band/ Ensemble and released in December 2021.  She also composed We Won’t Forget a Bread and Roses Award funded by Wales Culture Matters and Musicians Union featuring Black History Wales Artists. All proceeds went to NHS and was named the Best COVID 19 track for Wales.

Recent releases have include her album Illuminate, EP Bossin’ It,and  Solo ft Luna Lie Lot.  Two of her Bossin’ It EP tracks Love Rapsody (ft Anwar Siziba) and Thinking About You (ft Jinmi Abduls) were A-Listed by BBC Radio Wales.  Her Afrobeat track Thinking About You was described by BBC presenter Wynne Evans as ‘Stunning!’

Ify plays a wide variety of genres from pop to R’n’B! She works with session musicians from Royal Welsh College Of Music And Drama who are part of ‘Ify Iwobi’ to perform her original works.
