This Sunday at 8pm UK time, and 3pm Canada time, the partnership of The Successors of the Mandingue and Productions Sagatallas will present an exclusive first showing of their collaborative work live on The Successors of the Mandingue’s Facebook page.
The piece includes a specially commissioned composition by N’famady Kouyaté featuring N’famady on balafon, guitar, bolon, djembe and vocals plus guest musicians Joel Beswick on keys, and Marc Elton on viola, with lyrics and spoken word by Cathryn Haulwen McShane-Kouyaté. To this song two pairs of dancers oceans apart have co-created and choreographed an amazing new work in the most challenging of circumstances:

Shakeera Ahmun (Wales, UK),
Oumar Almamy Camara (Guinea/UK), and
Camille Trudel-Vigeant (Quebec, Canada).
The presentation will include the first showings of two films created by Dominic Fitzgerald – first the finished work, followed by a film giving some insights into the process behind the scenes – plus a live opportunity to interact with some of the project participants. The event will start with the partners presenting via a livestream Zoom to Facebook, followed by the films being premiered on the following platforms – Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. Viewers will have time to watch and then we will recommence our Zoom livestream to respond to comments and questions live online.
