The Successors of the Mandingue All Stars feat. Eve Goodman

For Dathliad Cymru-Affrica 2023 a special collaboration was commissioned between N’famady Kouyaté (Artistic Director of The Successors of the Mandingue) and Eve Goodman to bring the folk traditions of West Africa and Wales together in a single piece, to celebrate the ancient cultural traditions and languages of their countries of origin.  N’famady and Eve first met when they both represented Wales at Celtic Connections 2022 in Glasgow for Showcase Scotland.

Here you can see The Successors of the Mandingue All Stars with Eve Goodman performing the beautiful result ‘Da Ni Yma Cymru, Da Ni Yma Affrica’ at our festival at Neuadd Ogwen in Bethesda, filmed by Orchard for S4C Lŵp.  They performed the piece at both festival venues opening the events with what became the festival anthem.  They also featured on S4C’s Gwyliau ’23 programme in September 2023.
