AFJ Cardiff aims to provide a healthy space where Afro dancers (or lovers of Afro dance) who may or may not have African and/or Caribbean roots can come together to share their love of Afro Dance, grow as dancers and learn more about the cultural/historical significance of Afro dance, thereby creating a sense of belonging for all. To utilize Dance as a creative tool of learning: Members are taught about the many different styles/techniques of Afro Dance and have their creative abilities/potentials constantly stretched and developed. Whether one is at the beginner, intermediate or expert stage of Afro Dance, there is something for everyone to learn as the classes are structured to fit each level. AFJ Cardiff also offers 1-1 classes to those interested in them and aims to run cultural talks and workshops. Opportunities to join performance groups to continuously showcase African dance will also be provided. AFJ Cardiff offers classes to adults as well as kids, while additionally going into schools, offering workshops and organising community events, and performances.
