Mamadou Keita profile picture with coloured stage lightingOriginally from Boké in Guinea, West Africa, Mamadou Keita moved to Conakry (the capital of guinea), and from there travelled to The Gambia finally ending up in the UK. A professional musician for over 25 years, Mamadou has been resident in the UK for around 15 years now.  Mamadou is a percussionist, specialising in doundoun but also plays djembe, kenkeni, sangban.  Mamadou teaches a weekly beginners class in Bristol teaching rhythms like Kuku, Liberté, Tiriba, and Djole.
