North Wales Africa Society festival promo picThe “North Wales African Society” (NWAS) was founded in 2018, by a group of passionate individuals who wanted to make a difference in their local community. The society’s mission is to achieve a vibrant inclusive society by focusing on Social, Education and Business issues of mutual interest between Wales and Africa.

Over the years, the society has participated in and hosted numerous socio-cultural events, using each opportunity to showcase its diverse talents and spread its message of “Diversity Makes Society”. Their performances are not just about entertaining audiences but also about inspiring them to act and make a difference in their communities.

“NWAS” has partnered with several local and international organizations to support various causes, including Black History Month, Breast Cancer Awareness, Great Big Green Week, Educational aid for local BAME children, and Covid-19 recovery efforts. Through their workshops & events, the society has been able to celebrate diversity & promote social inclusion.

In addition to their charitable work, the members of NWAS also strive to promote social activities in their individual local community such as arts, crafts and dance as a form of self-expression and creativity, with the belief that socially engaging with the local community has the power to bring people together and transcend language and cultural barriers.

As they prepare to participate in the upcoming African Arts Festival, “NWAS” is excited to showcase their talent and share their message with a wider audience. They hope that their performance will inspire others to join their cause and make a positive impact in their communities.
