Building on last year’s success – platforming and celebrating the richness of diversity in Wales, we are again showcasing African artists based in Wales and inviting guest artists from UK, Europe, and Africa for this year’s events. The festival includes Afro-Welsh fusions and performances, and promotes the year-round work of African community groups. This year’s festival so far has taken place at – Bluestone Brewing Co (Cilgwyn) and Dathliad Cymru-Affrica Day at Butetown Carnival (Cardiff Bay), and coming up we will be at Neuadd Ogwen (Bethesda) 22/23 November.
We are also running a community engagement programme with a series of workshops (including African dance and drumming/percussion).
